Greyhound Sales uses a feature known as an anti-sniping feature on all auctions.
Auction sniping is the process of watching a timed online auction and placing a winning bid at the last possible moment giving the other bidders no time to outbid the sniper.
Our anti-sniping feature will automatically extend the bid deadline if a bid is placed in the last moments of the auction to give other buyers time to react.
This feature simulates a "live" auction and helps eliminate sniping. Sniping is last second bidding without the ability to counter bid. It creates more of a true auction feel, effectively simulating the Auctioneer saying...Going once, going twice.....Sold!
